Graduation season compresses into a few weeks in May and June, and the good dates go early. It is also a party with two audiences in one room — the graduate’s friends and the family — and the job is keeping both on the floor.
Two crowds, one night
The music that fills the floor at 10pm is not the music that works while grandparents are eating. We build the night in stages: family and dinner music early, a moment for the toast and the slideshow, then the floor opens and the room belongs to the graduate. An MC manages the handover so it feels intentional rather than like the party changed hands.
The slideshow always matters more than expected
Nearly every graduation party has photos from kindergarten onward, and it is usually the moment the family remembers. We run it from a proper screen or LED wall with the audio balanced so the music underneath does not bury the room, and we test the file in advance rather than opening it for the first time on the night.
